The mission

A portion of every OYSTR order goes back to the people growing British oysters.

The oyster industry filters the water it grows in. It sequesters carbon at the seabed. It supports family farms and communities that would otherwise have disappeared. OYSTR contributes a committed percentage of every subscription and every fresh order to specific producers and restoration projects, published transparently and updated quarterly.

  • £3

    of every £54 subscription

Committed monthly to a named producer or restoration project.

  • £2

    of every fresh order

    Same pool. Same transparency.

  • 100%

    disclosure

Every quarter we publish where the money went and what it did.

  • 0%

    overhead

All contributions go direct. OYSTR absorbs the admin cost.

Where the money goes

Project 01

Essex Native Oyster Restoration Initiative (ENORI)

Working to restore the historic native oyster population in the Blackwater and Colne estuaries. Native (Ostrea edulis) populations collapsed in the twentieth century from disease, over-fishing, and pollution. ENORI is putting them back. A share of Q4 2026 subscription revenue goes here.

Project 02

Wild Oysters Project (Blue Marine Foundation)

The largest native oyster restoration programme in the UK. Multi-site, cross-country, involving the Zoological Society of London and the British Marine Federation. Q1 2027 pool.

Project 03

Loch Ryan Oysters producer support

A direct payment to Loch Ryan Oysters to support their small operation as they work through the season. Straight to the fishery, no restrictions. Q2 2027 pool.

Quarterly reports

Nothing hidden.

Every quarter we publish a short report on what OYSTR revenue looked like, how much went to producers and restoration, and what specifically that money paid for. First report ships in January 2027 covering the launch quarter (October to December 2026). Reports live at oystr.farm/notes and go out to every subscriber and Bed member.

The mission is real. The numbers are small at first. But small honest numbers are worth more than large opaque ones.
